The iconic round frame is built from Smith's Evolve bio-based material — lightweight, durable, and over 53% plant-derived. Removable TPU side shields block light reflecting off snow, rock, and ice for full peripheral coverage during summit bids, ski descents, and high-alpine traverses, and can be detached for everyday casual wear. Lens options include ChromaPop polycarbonate polarized, ChromaPop Glass polarized (mineral glass for superior scratch resistance), and ChromaPop Glacier Photochromic — a polarized photochromic lens that adapts tint to changing UV and light conditions with less temperature sensitivity than standard photochromic lenses. All ChromaPop lenses filter two specific wavelengths of light to improve color definition and contrast across terrain. Smudge and moisture-resistant coatings are standard; Glacier Photochromic lenses also include anti-fog coating. QuickFit easy-adjust temples allow a customized fit with gloves on, and AutoLock hinges hold the frame open for one-handed on and off. Megol hydrophilic nose and temple pads grip better as the wearer perspires. The 4-base lens curvature gives the frame a flatter, more classic profile compared to wraparound sport frames.
