Headwind (H)
A headwind version of an OTE javelin describes a streamlined tip designed to help cut through the wind. This javelin tip, because of its small surface area, will have self-correcting characteristics when a thrower misses the point, adding valuable distance to a missed throw. The headwind version is ideal for 'power' throwers who lack perfect technique but make up for it with strength and torque.
Tailwind (T)
A tailwind version of an OTE javelin describes a thicker, more blunted tip that increases the surface area in front of the javelin. When a thrower hits the point with a tailwind version of an OTE javelin, it will mimic the old rules style javelins, with a beautiful floating flight and greater distances. This tailwind version is ideal for 'finesse' throwers who lack high outputs of power, yet throw at a high technical level.
Universal
A universal version of an OTE javelin describes a streamlined tip designed to cut through the air while helping deliver lift on the javelin. This javelin tip, because of its small surface area, will have self-correcting characteristics when a thrower misses the point, adding valuable distance to a missed throw. Ideal for 'power' throwers who lack perfect technique but make up for it with strength and torque.

A headwind version of an OTE javelin describes a streamlined tip designed to help cut through the wind. This javelin tip, because of its small surface area, will have self-correcting characteristics when a thrower misses the point, adding valuable distance to a missed throw. The headwind version is ideal for 'power' throwers who lack perfect technique but make up for it with strength and torque.
Tailwind (T)
A tailwind version of an OTE javelin describes a thicker, more blunted tip that increases the surface area in front of the javelin. When a thrower hits the point with a tailwind version of an OTE javelin, it will mimic the old rules style javelins, with a beautiful floating flight and greater distances. This tailwind version is ideal for 'finesse' throwers who lack high outputs of power, yet throw at a high technical level.
Universal
A universal version of an OTE javelin describes a streamlined tip designed to cut through the air while helping deliver lift on the javelin. This javelin tip, because of its small surface area, will have self-correcting characteristics when a thrower misses the point, adding valuable distance to a missed throw. Ideal for 'power' throwers who lack perfect technique but make up for it with strength and torque.
Rubber Tip (R)
Rubber tip javelins for beginners or professionals in training. For use indoors and on artificial grass surfaces. Wherever extra safety is a concern and for use in states that do not allow traditional tips.

The Weather Cover Insert is the small but essential accessory that completes Gill's weather cover protection system. Without it, the vault box cutout in the weather cover leaves an open gap that exposes pit foam to rain, debris, and UV damage — and puts stress on the cover material around the opening during off-season storage. The insert fills that gap cleanly and keeps the entire pit protected from all angles.
- Fills Vault Box Cutout Opening — Purpose-built foam insert fills the vault box cutout in Gill's pole vault weather covers, eliminating the uncovered gap that standard covers leave at the box area and completing the full protective seal across the entire pit surface between practice sessions and during off-season storage
- Prevents Moisture Intrusion at Box Opening — The vault box area is one of the most vulnerable points for water entry into the pit foam — the insert blocks rain and snowmelt from channeling through the cutout opening and saturating the foam base units beneath, significantly extending the service life of the landing system
- Protects Weather Cover Material — Fills and supports the cover at the cutout zone, preventing the weather cover fabric from sagging, stretching, or tearing around the box opening under the weight of rain pooling or debris accumulating in an unsupported gap over time
- Compatible with Gill Pole Vault Weather Covers — Designed specifically to work with Gill's pole vault landing system weather covers across the S-Series, G-Series, and G4/G6 system configurations, ensuring a proper fit at the vault box cutout without modification or trimming
- Lightweight and Easy to Handle — Foam construction keeps the insert light enough for one person to place and remove quickly during weather cover installation and removal, adding minimal time to the cover setup and breakdown process between sessions
